SwiftPass, the leading payment service provider, has teamed with Tencent to introduce the facial recognition in Hong Kong Science Park. The facial recognition payment technology made its debut at the seminar “Smart Hong Kong: Our Journey of The Smart City”, which hold by Hong Kong Science Park on January 1st.
Except of Octopus Card and WeChat Pay, Customers now can buy goods and pay with their face in the unmanned store of Hong Kong Science Park. No more cash, no more QR code. This latest payment solution is brought to Hong Kong by SwiftPass in partnership with Tencent.
Choose your good and scan its barcode with the self check-out terminal, then pay with your face according to the prompts on the screen. When it shows the successful notice, the payment was done. It only takes about 10 seconds to make the payment. It is an efficiency improvement for the whole process of check-out, and reduces the costs of cashiers.
Now, the facial recognition payment is still in test, and expected to be launched in early April this year.
